Mumbai: In response to ongoing redevelopment efforts at Surat station, several train services will experience temporary changes in their terminus until September 20, 2024. The transformation project aims to modernise Surat station, enhancing passenger facilities and overall travel experience.
Due to significant redevelopment work, particularly the concourse construction under Surat Station Redevelopment (Phase-I) on Platform 4, trains that were originally scheduled to terminate at Surat will now be short-terminated at Udhna station. This adjustment, initially planned to conclude by September 7, has been extended until September 20 to accommodate continued construction. The changes will impact both originating and terminating trains. A total of eight trains departing from Surat will now originate from Udhna station, while nine trains that were to terminate at Surat will be short-terminated at Udhna.
This shift is designed to ease congestion at Surat station, enhance operational flexibility, and facilitate faster completion of the ongoing infrastructure upgrades. Affected trains include Trains Short-Originating from Udhna: Surat – Virar Passenger, Surat – Bandra Terminus Intercity Express, Surat – Bhusaval Passenger, Surat – Bhusaval Express, Surat – Chhapra Special, Surat – Chhapra Tapti Ganga Express, Surat – Bhagalpur Superfast Express, and Surat – Amravati Superfast.
