Mumbai Traffic Advisory Issued for Ministers’ Swearing-In at Azad Maidan on December 5

Mumbai’s bustling roads will see significant traffic restrictions on December 5 as the city hosts the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra’s new ministers at Azad Maidan. With a large turnout expected, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public convenience. The advisory, effective from 12:00 PM until the end of the event, highlights critical no-entry zones and alternative routes. As there are no parking facilities at Azad Maidan, attendees are urged to rely on public transport, especially Mumbai’s local trains.

No-Entry Zones
Traffic will be prohibited in the following areas: CSMT Junction to Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk (Metro Junction): Both directions closed.
Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) to Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk (Metro Junction): Both bounds closed.
Mahapalika Marg: No traffic between CSMT Junction and Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk.
Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) to CSMT Junction: Traffic prohibited.
Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge, Southbound): Traffic from NS Road and Coastal Road towards Shamaldas Gandhi Junction restricted.
Rambhau Salgaonkar Road (One Way): Two-way traffic permitted from Indu Clinic Junction (Sayyed Jamadar Chowk) to Volga Chowk.

Alternative Routes
Commuters can use the following routes: LT Marg – Chakala Junction – DN Road – CSMT Junction.
Maharshi Karve Road to their destination.
Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) – Hutatma Chowk – Kalaghoda – K Dubhash Marg – Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg.
The Mumbai Police have urged citizens to plan their travel ahead of time to avoid inconvenience. Those travelling near Azad Maidan are advised to keep updated with traffic conditions through official channels. By prioritising public transport and adhering to the advisory, residents can help ensure a hassle-free experience during this significant state event.
