The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced plans to construct a ₹43.41 crore pedestrian foot over bridge (FOB) to seamlessly connect Mumbai Metro’s Line 6 SEEPZ station with Line 3’s Aarey station.
This infrastructure initiative is set to improve passenger convenience, reduce travel time, and support the city’s broader goal of sustainable, eco-friendly urban development. The proposed foot over bridge, spanning 250 metres, will cross over the bustling Jogeshwari Vikroli Link Road (JVLR), effectively linking two of Mumbai’s key metro corridors. This connection is expected to facilitate smoother transfers for daily commuters, particularly in an era where integrated transport systems are critical for urban efficiency. Currently, passengers travelling between these two metro lines face the inconvenience of navigating through busy roads or relying on indirect routes. Notably, the selected contractor will also be responsible for addressing any structural defects for up to five years post-completion, ensuring the long-term durability of the structure.
