Conducted between November 25 and December 1, 2025, the week-long crackdown targeted congested areas, including key junctions, markets, railway stations, and metro hubs. Authorities collected fines totalling ₹2.72 crore, highlighting the scale of violations and the city’s ongoing struggle with traffic discipline.
According to a senior traffic official, 22,955 vehicles were penalised specifically for obstructive parking that compromised safety or disrupted the flow of commuters. Additional breaches included parking on footpaths, zebra crossings, near bus stops, schools, hospitals, and “No Parking” zones, alongside double parking and blocking building entrances. These infractions generated an extra ₹2.92 lakh in fines, bringing the total enforcement revenue to ₹2.72 crore. The operation underscores Mumbai’s growing challenges as urban density and vehicular numbers rise. “Illegal parking is a critical barrier to smooth traffic movement and poses safety risks for pedestrians and motorists alike,” an official said. “Our focus is on behavioural change, and enforcement is just one part of a broader urban mobility strategy.”
