Andhra Pradesh is set to strengthen its transportation and logistics infrastructure with the development of a multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) in Tarluwada, spread across 157 acres. This strategic project is designed to enhance the seamless movement of goods by connecting key transport hubs, including Bhogapuram Airport, Vizag Port, and industrial zones. The park will play a pivotal role in improving trade efficiency, fostering industrial growth, and bolstering the state’s position as a key logistics hub.
The state government is also working on an ambitious coastal highway project, estimated to cost ₹6,300 crore. This six-lane highway will connect the Vizag port container terminal with the upcoming Bhogapuram airport, passing through key areas like Rushikonda and Bheemili. The highway aims to provide better connectivity for goods transportation, particularly between the port and the greenfield international airport, vital for boosting Andhra Pradesh’s logistics sector. To support these infrastructure projects, the state has committed to contributing ₹1,200 crore for land acquisition costs. The logistics park in Tarluwada will be a major beneficiary, facilitating smoother movement of goods and enabling better intermodal connectivity between road, rail, and air transport.
The development of the MMLP and the coastal highway is aligned with the state’s vision to position itself as a national and global trade gateway. Moreover, the project promises to unlock significant economic potential by enabling faster transport, reducing logistics costs, and improving regional connectivity. The local community is hopeful that these developments will create new job opportunities, enhance infrastructure, and ultimately improve the quality of life by reducing congestion and fostering a more sustainable, efficient economy.
