Mace has been appointed as the Programme Management Partner (PMP) for the MTR Corporation, bringing its extensive global infrastructure delivery expertise to Hong Kong for the implementation of new railway extension projects.
As the PMP for the MTR Capital Works team, Mace will establish an integrated Project Management Office (PMO). This office aims to facilitate the seamless execution of PMO functions and the integration of digital systems, supporting MTR’s transformation and digital project objectives. The MTR Corporation’s railway network is a cornerstone of Hong Kong’s public transport system, with approximately 4.45 million passenger journeys on weekdays, maintaining an impressive punctuality rate of 99.9%. The collaboration with Mace is set to further enhance the Capital Works team’s PMO capabilities, enabling the establishment of best-in-class integrated project controls, digital services, and NEC contracting standards.
Mace, renowned for its leadership in the built environment and collaborative construction delivery, will prioritise accountability, transparency, and collaboration. These principles are essential for the successful delivery of MTR’s substantial capital works programme. With an outstanding track record in delivering mega-infrastructure programmes globally, including the Peruvian reconstruction work, Metrolinx in Canada, and the Hudson Tunnel Project in New York, Mace brings a wealth of experience to this partnership. The firm has also been involved in complex transportation projects, such as the redevelopment of RLDA Ahmedabad Railway Station in India.
