Morbi Ceramic Hub Gains New Rail Cargo Terminal To Boost Trade

Morbi the heart of India’s ceramic tiles manufacturing is poised for a major logistics upgrade with the opening of a new Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal at Rafaleshwar. During a recent meeting with key industry stakeholders the head of Container Corporation of India Limited CONCOR emphasized how this facility will revolutionize rail based cargo movement. Designed to offer seamless cost effective and time efficient solutions the terminal is strategically positioned to significantly boost the regions prominent ceramic and allied industries enhancing both domestic distribution and global export capabilities thus fostering robust economic growth for the area.

The recent engagement involved active participation from the Morbi Ceramic Manufacturers Association alongside representatives from shipping lines freight forwarders Custom Brokers and various tile producers. The trade community expressed strong optimism about the terminals positive impact on both regional exports and domestic distribution networks. A CONCOR Executive Director underscored the terminals integration with the corporations extensive pan India network encouraging maximum utilization of this new facility which is conveniently located at the ceramic hubs doorstep. He reaffirmed CONCORs commitment to delivering comprehensive end to end logistics and warehousing services at destination terminals tailored for demand based distribution nationwide.

Industry leaders from the ceramic cluster conveyed their profound gratitude for the establishment of the new terminal within the Morbi cluster. They voiced ambitious aspirations to elevate the cluster to a world leading position by producing goods superior to those from Italy and more affordable than those from China. The CONCOR Chairman and Managing Director acknowledged Morbis substantial contribution to Indias ceramic sector which accounts for 90 percent of national consumption and stands as the worlds second largest ceramic exporter with exports valued over ₹20,000 crore. He characterized the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Rafaleshwar as a state of the art facility meticulously designed to cater to the specific demands of the Morbi industrial cluster. By leveraging rail as an eco friendly and efficient transport mode the region is now poised for a transformative shift in its logistical landscape.

Operating as a Government of India enterprise CONCOR assures transparency and a customer centric commercial approach. With a robust network of 68 terminals nationwide over 55,000 domestic containers more than 400 rakes and LNG trailers CONCOR is well equipped to support the regions industrial expansion. The organization aims to establish 100 terminals by 2027 aligning with the national Viksit Bharat vision. The Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Rafaleshwar is set to commence full operations on or before August 1 2025 providing a comprehensive range of logistics services specifically for the Morbi industrial cluster.

The new Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal at Rafaleshwar marks a pivotal step in strengthening Morbis ceramic industrys logistical capabilities. By providing efficient rail connectivity the terminal is set to enhance cost effectiveness and reduce transit times significantly boosting the regions export potential and domestic market reach.
