Mohali Boosts Connectivity With Three Road Projects Worth Rs 1.10 Crore

Mohali has witnessed the inauguration of three new road projects valued at Rs 1.10 crore, aimed at improving connectivity, facilitating smoother commutes, and enhancing overall economic and social development across surrounding villages. The projects, which include new link roads and maintenance work, are expected to significantly reduce travel time and provide safer, more reliable transport infrastructure for residents.

The newly completed roads comprise the 0.5 km Landran Access Road, constructed at a cost of Rs 23 lakh; the 1.31 km Tangori–Mankapur Kallar Link Road, developed for Rs 26 lakh; and the 1.25 km Shekhan Majra–Kurra Link Road, which cost Rs 27 lakh with an additional Rs 25.3 lakh allocated for strengthening and maintenance. Local officials emphasised that the projects adhere to stringent construction standards and are designed to withstand increased vehicular load while ensuring durability and safety. Urban development experts highlighted that strategic investments in rural and semi-urban road networks are critical for fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life. “Well-planned road connectivity not only eases travel for residents but also facilitates access to local markets, industrial hubs, and healthcare facilities, thereby accelerating regional development,” said an official overseeing infrastructure projects in the Mohali district.

The administration confirmed that work on these roads has been executed with a focus on sustainability, using environmentally conscious materials and techniques wherever possible. Improved road surfaces, proper drainage systems, and routine maintenance are expected to reduce future repair costs and minimise disruption to traffic, supporting the broader vision of creating more resilient and eco-friendly urban and semi-urban infrastructure. Residents in adjoining areas have welcomed the development, noting that the new link roads provide direct and safer routes to nearby villages and commercial zones. The enhanced connectivity is expected to encourage economic activity, including better access for transport services, trade, and small businesses operating within the region.

Officials reiterated that future projects in Mohali will continue to prioritise sustainable planning, with a strong emphasis on gender-neutral, equitable, and environmentally responsible urban and rural infrastructure. This aligns with the government’s vision to deliver inclusive development while ensuring long-term benefits for communities. With these new link roads now operational, Mohali’s transport network is set to become more efficient, reliable, and resilient, reflecting a sustained effort to balance infrastructure growth with community welfare and environmental responsibility.
