The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched a significant tender for the construction and commissioning of ballastless trackwork on Line 4 of the Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

This initiative represents a key phase in expanding Mumbai’s metro infrastructure, aimed at bolstering connectivity and alleviating commuter congestion across the metropolis. The scope of the tender encompasses a range of responsibilities including the design, construction, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and final commissioning of the trackwork. Specifically, the project will cover the stretch from Bhakti Park, located at chainage -550.000 meters, to Mulund Fire Station at chainage 18929.611 meters. Additionally, the work will include the installation of siding tracks at Bhakti Park Station and a pocket track situated between Sonapur and Mulund Fire Station.

Valued at approximately Rs 2.24 billion, the project is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the start date. The MMRDA’s call for tenders, with a submission deadline of September 12, 2024, marks a pivotal step in the metro expansion effort. This development is anticipated to significantly enhance public transportation options and support the city’s growing demand for efficient and reliable transit solutions. The tender aligns with broader urban development goals and reflects the ongoing commitment to modernising Mumbai’s transport infrastructure. The successful bidder will play a crucial role in advancing the metro network, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and contribute to the city’s sustainable growth.

Additionally, the 14th RAHSTA Expo, a key event in the India Construction Festival, will take place on October 9-10, 2024, at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. This expo will showcase advancements in construction and infrastructure, further highlighting the significance of projects like Metro Line 4.
