Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded a ₹250-crore contract to Aurionpro, a leading technology solutions provider, for the implementation and management of the metro’s fare collection system. The contract covers the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of an integrated smart ticketing and fare collection platform across the Mumbai Metro network, reflecting the city’s push towards digitisation and efficiency in public transportation.
Officials from MMRDA highlighted that the new system is expected to enhance commuter convenience while reducing operational complexities associated with traditional ticketing methods. The smart fare collection solution will integrate contactless card payments, QR code-based ticketing, and mobile payment options, ensuring seamless travel across all metro lines.
