MHADA Resolves Pending Cases with Efficiency at Lokshahi Din

In a significant demonstration of its commitment to efficient governance, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) successfully resolved five long-pending cases during its ninth Lokshahi Din session, held under the leadership of Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal. This initiative reflects MHADA’s ongoing efforts to address citizen grievances swiftly and transparently.

Among the key cases resolved was the issue of Amrut Kore, whose flat regularization had been pending for over two decades since 2004. With Jaiswal’s intervention, the approval for the transfer was granted without further delay. Similarly, Fitzgerald Ozario, who had been unable to secure ownership of his redeveloped flat, saw a positive resolution when Jaiswal directed the authorities to accept an indemnity bond instead of the usual inheritance certificate, paving the way for ownership. Another notable case involved Mohammad Khan, a lottery winner from the Konkan Board, who had been saddled with excess charges related to parking and clubhouse fees. Jaiswal’s direct intervention with the developer led to the waiver of these charges, much to the relief of Khan. Additionally, Anil Prabhulkar’s property regularization, which had been languishing for a long time, was swiftly finalised, bringing closure to a prolonged issue.

In a particularly time-sensitive case, Dilip Suryavanshi, who had been waiting for possession of his redeveloped flat, was assured that the necessary steps would be taken to ensure the flat would be handed over within seven days. Two other cases, including one related to incorrect penalties on maintenance charges, were also resolved during the session. Overall, the session reviewed seven applications, with a cumulative total of 81 applications addressed since the beginning of the initiative. Out of these, 75 cases have been successfully resolved, underscoring MHADA’s dedication to transparent, citizen-friendly governance that prioritises the needs and concerns of Mumbai’s residents.
