MHADA Conducts Lottery for 3,662 Flats in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced that it will conduct a computerized lottery for 3,662 flats across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), and Solapur on January 29, 2025. This event, aimed at facilitating affordable housing in these regions, will take place at the Pune Zilla Parishad Hall at 1 PM and will be graced by the presence of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister, Eknath Shinde. The event marks an important step in the state’s efforts to address the growing demand for affordable housing amidst rapid urbanisation.
The online lottery will encompass various housing schemes, including 93 flats under the MHADA Housing Scheme and 3,569 flats under the 20% Comprehensive Housing Scheme. The decision to use the Integrated Housing Lottery Management System (IHLMS) 2.0 for the draw is designed to ensure complete transparency and eliminate the potential for human intervention, making the process more efficient and trustworthy. According to Rahul Sakore, the Chief Officer of the Pune Board at MHADA, the online system will be pivotal in delivering results in a fair and transparent manner.

With over 71,642 applications already received, the demand for these flats vastly outstrips supply. A list of successful applicants will be published on MHADA’s website by 6 PM the same day, with SMS notifications sent directly to winners. While the process aims to be seamless and open, MHADA has issued a warning against fraudulent schemes that have surfaced, with individuals falsely claiming to have access to flats for a fee. MHADA has clarified that all allocations will be made exclusively through the official online lottery process.
