Operated by R-Infra’s Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd and Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) respectively, Metro Line One and Line Seven both offer the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) facility. However, despite this shared feature, commuters find themselves unable to recharge their Line Seven travel cards at Line One stations, leading to inconvenience and dissatisfaction among passengers.

Recent attempts by commuters to recharge their Line Seven travel cards at Ghatkopar metro station were met with disappointment as station authorities directed them to seek recharges at Line Seven stations instead. This disparity underscores the need for seamless payment interoperability across all metro lines, ensuring a hassle-free experience for passengers navigating Mumbai’s expansive metro network. In response to inquiries, Mumbai Metro acknowledged the issue, attributing the inconvenience to recent restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Paytm, the previous NCMC partner.
