Maharashtra Chief Minister has directed authorities to swiftly develop a crucial logistics hub in Dhule, North Maharashtra, aiming to bolster industrial expansion and enhance civic amenities. This proposed hub, which includes a dry port and specialized storage terminal, is deemed essential given Dhule city’s increasing population and burgeoning industrial needs. The directive emphasizes examining technical, financial, and logistical feasibility while incorporating expert advice to expedite the setup. This strategic move is set to significantly contribute to the region’s economic growth and urban infrastructure development, fostering a more robust industrial ecosystem.
During a meeting focused on various projects for Dhule Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister underscored the necessity of providing comprehensive facilities for industries in the region. He also directed robust arrangements for rainwater drainage in low-lying areas like Devpur and Valwadi, emphasizing coordination with the Disaster Management Department. Given Dhule city’s significant expansion from 46.46 sq km to 101.08 sq km, he instructed that funds be sanctioned from the Urban Upliftment Scheme to provide basic amenities in the newly incorporated areas. Additionally, to alleviate the substantial annual electricity cost of ₹32-33 crore for water distribution and street lights, he recommended establishing solar projects with battery storage.
In a related development, the Sports Minister recently announced that the government is favorably considering the allocation of approximately 1500 acres of land for a Mini Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) at Junction in Indapur taluka. This subject was a key point of discussion in a meeting involving the Deputy Chief Minister. The minister highlighted that local industrialists, known for manufacturing diverse equipment, have been advocating for this MIDC for four decades. Its establishment is anticipated to significantly boost employment opportunities for the area’s youth and serve as a central point for Indapur taluka’s overall development, attracting new entrepreneurs and creating a distinct economic identity.
The push for Dhule’s logistics hub and Indapur’s Mini MIDC signifies Maharashtra’s commitment to balanced regional development and industrialization. These initiatives aim to create vital infrastructure, generate employment, and boost economic activity. Such strategic investments are crucial for fostering sustainable growth and ensuring equitable prosperity across the state.
