The Uttar Pradesh government is fast-tracking plans for a transformative 67-kilometre semi-high-speed rapid rail corridor connecting Lucknow and Kanpur. The Uttar Pradesh Housing Department has formally directed the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) and the Unnao-Shuklaganj Development Authority to commence the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR). This crucial document will meticulously assess the project’s financial viability, forecast expected ridership, project revenue potential, and outline the intricate land acquisition requirements.
