LDA’s Special Camp Aims to Clear Property Registration Backlog
In a bid to expedite long-pending property registrations, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has launched an eight-day special registration camp at its committee hall. On the first day of operations, 64 property allottees applied for registration, but only 23 files were successfully processed, underscoring persistent challenges in document verification and procedural compliance.
With numerous properties allotted over the years but yet to be registered, the LDA has taken proactive measures to address this backlog. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Registration Department, seeks to streamline the process and encourage property buyers to complete formalities without unnecessary delays. Despite prior telephonic notifications, several applicants failed to provide complete documentation, leading to setbacks in approval rates. LDA officials emphasised the need for timely compliance to ensure a smoother transition for homeowners and investors.
The special camp, operational until March 29, is being staffed by LDA personnel who are assisting applicants in preparing their documentation. To further accelerate the process, officials from the Registration Department will be present on April 2 and 3 to finalise registrations on-site. This joint effort is expected to enhance efficiency, mitigate procedural bottlenecks, and offer much-needed relief to property buyers who have been awaiting registration for extended periods.
Among the areas witnessing significant participation in the camp, the Kanpur Road Scheme and its associated apartments registered the highest number of applications on the opening day. As the initiative progresses, the LDA remains committed to resolving registration hurdles, thereby reinforcing confidence among buyers and contributing to a more organised and transparent property transaction ecosystem in Lucknow.
