LDA Introduces Freehold Facility in Transportnagar
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to roll out the freehold facility in Transportnagar, a significant step aimed at enhancing property ownership rights in the area. This move, however, comes with a stern warning for those who have failed to meet the required compliance standards. The LDA has announced that it will cancel the allotments of plots whose owners have not submitted the necessary allotment records, with the properties set to be auctioned.Out of a total of 292 plot allottees in Transportnagar, only 180 have complied by submitting their allotment documents, leaving 112 allottees non-compliant.
The LDA has made it clear that strict action will be taken against these defaulters, urging them to submit their documents within the stipulated time frame. If they fail to do so, the plots in question will be put up for auction to ensure the proper utilisation of land.
The LDA’s move reflects its ongoing efforts to streamline the allotment process and eliminate fraudulent practices. To ensure that due diligence is maintained, the authority has formed a special committee led by the LDA secretary to review the documents of the 180 compliant plots. The committee is cross-checking these records with the registry department and the LDA’s own files.
If any fraudulent documents are found, the LDA has warned that the allotment will be cancelled and the plot will be auctioned. The freehold facility, which offers landowners greater autonomy and security of tenure, is expected to be a significant boost for the development of Transportnagar. However, the crackdown on non-compliance underscores the LDA’s determination to ensure transparency and fairness in the land distribution process. Authorities have indicated that further actions will follow, and the agency will continue to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards non-compliance and fraudulent claims.
