The Karnataka state government and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike
(BBMP) recently partnered with the World Design Organisation (WDO) to
revitalise the Bengaluru city region. The WDO will be entrusted with the task of
developing satellite towns in the Bengaluru Metropolitan Regional
Development Authority (BMRDA) regions.
The government wants to make Bengaluru lovable and livable with a socio-
economic balance, and it needs proper design of big projects. Following the
ceremonial signing of the MoU, a new chapter for Brand Bengaluru and
Karnataka has begun. The WDO has provided recommendations on various aspects, including roads,
footpaths, parks, road intersections, and the development of satellite towns.
These suggestions will shape the future of the city. The WDO, based in Canada,
will be leading a team of 200 to 300 engineers in the development of the city.
