The app, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), has rapidly gained popularity since its launch, offering commuters convenient access to smart card recharges and QR code-based ticket bookings for metro rides. Launched on March 5, 2022, for Android users and subsequently on March 22, 2024, for iOS users, ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ has emerged as an indispensable tool for metro passengers seeking hassle-free travel experiences.
