The Municipal Member in Charge (MMiC), Debashis Kumar, confirmed that the Southeast Traffic Guard, under KMC’s directive, has suspended parking charges until a new agency is appointed through the tender process. “In the interim period, we have instructed police personnel to ensure no parking fees are collected,” stated MMiC Kumar, highlighting KMC’s proactive stance amidst the transitional phase. Issues surrounding unauthorized fee collection and operational mismanagement prompted KMC’s decision to take direct control of the parking facility, accommodating approximately 55-60 vehicles.
