Kacheguda Launches New Express Train To Bhagat Ki Kothi Enhancing Connectivity

A significant enhancement to India’s railway network was unveiled with the inauguration of a direct express train service connecting Kacheguda to Bhagat Ki Kothi. This new route, set to be operated by the South Central Railway zone, marks a pivotal step in expanding affordable and efficient long-distance travel options across the nation. The initiative underscores a strategic focus on bolstering connectivity for diverse demographics, including the vital workforce, thereby contributing to more equitable and sustainable urban and regional development.

The newly introduced Kacheguda to Bhagat Ki Kothi Express will traverse a substantial distance of 1953 kilometres, completing its journey in approximately 44 hours and 10 minutes. Operating as train numbers 17605/17606, the service will make 29 strategic stops, linking key urban and regional centres. These include Nizamabad, Nanded, Purna, Akola, Khandwa, Itarsi, Ujjain, Ajmer, and Marwar, among others, facilitating seamless movement of people and goods across multiple states and fostering economic integration between southern and western India.

Designed with a focus on broad accessibility, the train’s composition includes two 2nd AC coaches, seven 3rd AC coaches, seven Sleeper coaches, four General 2nd Class coaches, and two Generator cum Luggage Brake Vans. This diverse configuration ensures that a wide spectrum of passengers, from those seeking air-conditioned comfort to those prioritising affordability, can utilise the service. The fare structure reflects this commitment to inclusivity, with Sleeper Class tickets priced at ₹770, AC 3 Tier at ₹2030, and AC 2 Tier at ₹2930, making long-distance rail travel economically viable for a larger segment of the population.

The introduction of this service is particularly significant given its emphasis on catering to the “common man,” a distinct approach from some of the higher-fare, fully air-conditioned services currently in operation. This strategic decision by the national railway system acknowledges the substantial demand for affordable and comfortable non-AC travel, especially along routes frequently used by the workforce. By providing modern amenities such as comfortable berths, individual mobile charging points, and advanced passenger information systems, the new express elevates the travel experience for all.

The Kacheguda – Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (Train No. 17605) will depart daily from Kacheguda at 23:50 hrs starting from July 20, 2025, arriving at Bhagat Ki Kothi at 20:00 hrs on the third day. Conversely, the Bhagat Ki Kothi – Kacheguda Express (Train No. 17606) will commence its daily journey from Bhagat Ki Kothi at 22:30 hrs from July 22, 2025, reaching Kacheguda at 15:40 hrs on the third day. This new service, with its 130 kmph maximum speed enabled by a “Push-Pull” locomotive system, represents a vital step towards a more connected, economically vibrant, and environmentally conscious India, where efficient rail transport underpins sustainable growth and equitable access for all.
