Torrential rains and subsequent landslides have severely disrupted life and travel in the Jammu region, leaving thousands of passengers, many of them pilgrims, stranded. In a remarkable display of civic duty and operational efficiency, the local railway division, in close cooperation with police and local administration, has mobilised a large-scale relief effort. The first, bound for Banaras, departed from Jammu, carrying over a thousand passengers. A second special service for New Delhi followed, accommodating a similar number of stranded individuals. These services were critical in alleviating the immediate pressure on the overwhelmed railway stations and providing a much-needed lifeline to those affected by the travel disruptions. The swift execution of these operations highlighted the dedication of the teams involved, who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and orderly departure.
