Jaipur Municipal Corporation – Heritage (JMC-H) is set to revolutionize project management with the launch of an online tendering system through the Work Information Management System (WIMS) portal. This initiative aims to bring greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability to municipal projects across the city.
Officials announced on Wednesday that all tender processes, including project estimation, administrative and financial approvals, technical clearances, work orders, and payments, will now be conducted through the WIMS portal. This digital platform will centralize all project-related information, enabling senior officials to monitor progress and ensure compliance with established timelines.
“The implementation of WIMS marks a significant milestone for JMC-H, enhancing our ability to oversee and manage public works effectively,” stated a JMC-Heritage official. “By digitizing the entire tendering process, we aim to eliminate manual interventions and streamline project execution from inception to completion.”
The portal will integrate all municipal officers, who will be required to upload real-time updates and progress reports regularly. This seamless connectivity will enable the Commissioner and the Superintending Engineer of JMC-H to monitor daily work progress, ensuring that all e-files remain tamper-proof and adherent to regulatory standards.
In addition to facilitating project oversight, the WIMS portal will enable quality assessments, verification of measurements, billing processes, and prompt payments, thereby promoting operational efficiency and reducing bureaucratic delays. Meanwhile, in a parallel effort to uphold civic standards, the vigilance wing of JMC-Heritage conducted a successful operation to remove temporary encroachments from the Walled City market area on Wednesday. This action underscores the municipality’s commitment to maintaining public spaces and enforcing regulatory compliance across heritage zones.
The adoption of digital tools like the WIMS portal reflects Jaipur’s commitment to modernizing municipal governance and promoting sustainable urban development. By leveraging technology to enhance transparency and accountability, JMC-Heritage aims to foster trust among stakeholders and drive positive outcomes in civic infrastructure projects.
As Jaipur navigates its urban growth trajectory, initiatives like the WIMS portal are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping a more responsive and resilient municipal administration, aligned with global standards of best practices in governance and project management.
