The Indian Railways has granted approval for construction of three crucial road overbridges in Gandhinagar district. These essential projects aim to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion, with a combined estimated cost of  INR 341 crore.
This includes two road overbridges at Khodiyar and one along the Kolavada-Gandhinagar highway. These projects are expected to bring relief to commuters.
The first of the approved bridges, on the Khodiyar-Gandhinagar section, will be constructed at an estimated cost of INR 101 crore. This four-lane overbridge will serve as a vital transportation link for residents and travellers coming from Gandhinagar city, Kalol, Vavol, GIDC area and Pethapur village.
The second bridge, also located between Khodiyar and Gandhinagar, is another four-lane structure with a budget of INR120 crore. This bridge will offer convenience to the people of Gandhinagar city, Pethapur village, and Randheja, effectively addressing traffic flow and connectivity needs in the area.
The third and final bridge, between Kolavada and Gandhinagar, carries a budget of INR 120 crore. Designed with an eye on future traffic requirements, this four-lane overbridge will accommodate the growing volume of vehicles. It will improve transportation for individuals traveling from Vavol, Uvarsad, Adalaj, Gandhinagar city, Sertha and Zundal.
These railway bridges represent a significant investment in the region’s infrastructure, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing transportation networks and alleviate traffic congestion.
