Indian Railways, through its Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) division, has announced the imminent commencement of the much-anticipated Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train, promising an enriching spiritual voyage across North India.
Aligned with the government’s ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ and ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiatives, this pioneering tourism endeavour aims to stimulate domestic travel and foster cultural appreciation. The meticulously crafted itinerary of the Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train spans 8 nights and 9 days, offering travellers a transformative journey to revered destinations including Vaishno Devi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Ayodhya. Embarking from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station in West Bengal on May 18, passengers can anticipate a seamless travel experience aboard the train, featuring AC-3 tier and economy/sleeper class coaches.
The journey unfolds through picturesque landscapes, with scheduled stoppages at key junctions such as Malda Town, Rampurhat, Dumka, Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, Kiul, and Patna Junction, before culminating at Ayodhya. Notably, ticket prices for this immersive spiritual sojourn are set at Rs 29,500 for AC class and Rs 17,900 for economy/sleeper class, offering a budget-friendly avenue for travellers to delve into the cultural and spiritual essence of North India.
