Hyderabad TGSRTC Meeseva Me Ticket Launched

Public bus services in Hyderabad have moved a step closer to full digital integration with the rollout of the Meeseva Me Ticket platform by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. The new system allows commuters to reserve long-distance seats and renew city bus passes through a unified mobile interface, reducing dependence on physical counters.

The application integrates the corporation’s Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS), bringing 1,710 scheduled services onto the platform. Of these, around 450 are air-conditioned services, while 1,260 operate as non-AC routes connecting major intercity corridors and regional destinations. Officials indicate that approximately 13,000 seats are booked daily on high-demand routes including Bengaluru, Tirupati and Warangal.Beyond reserved travel, the platform enables renewal of monthly passes within Greater Hyderabad, a move expected to benefit daily wage earners, students and office commuters who rely on public transport. Current pass categories include City Ordinary, Metro Express and Metro Deluxe options, alongside premium Green Metro Luxury AC and Pushpak AC variants.

Transport economists note that digitising bus ticketing is more than a convenience upgrade. For state transport undertakings, integrated digital platforms improve revenue tracking, demand forecasting and route optimisation. Data-driven insights can help rebalance fleet allocation, reduce fuel consumption and identify underserved corridors. For Hyderabad’s urban mobility landscape, the initiative aligns with broader goals of reducing private vehicle dependence and easing congestion. With rising fuel prices and mounting climate pressures, strengthening public transport through seamless digital access could enhance ridership retention, particularly among younger commuters accustomed to app-based services.

However, mobility planners caution that digital access must be paired with on-ground service reliability. App-based booking cannot substitute for punctual schedules, fleet modernisation and last-mile connectivity. Ensuring multilingual support and simple user interfaces will also be critical to avoid excluding non-tech-savvy passengers. The Meeseva Me Ticket rollout positions TGSRTC within a growing cohort of Indian state transport bodies adopting smart ticketing solutions. As Hyderabad expands and intercity travel demand grows, integrated digital systems may become central to sustaining public transport viability while advancing low-carbon mobility objectives across Telangana.
