Hyderabad–Jodhpur Express New Daily Train Enhances Inter-State Connectivity

Indian Railways is set to launch a new direct express train connecting Kacheguda in Hyderabad to Bhagat Ki Kothi in Jodhpur, a significant step towards enhancing inter-state connectivity across 1953 kilometres. Flagged off by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, this service promises to reduce travel time to approximately 44 hours and 10 minutes, offering a crucial link that will foster economic activity and promote sustainable, accessible travel for millions across diverse regions.

The Kacheguda to Bhagat Ki Kothi Express, designated with train numbers 17605/17606, will be maintained and operated by the South Central Railway (SCR) zone. This new service is poised to transform long-distance travel, providing a reliable and affordable alternative to other modes of transport. By offering a direct link between these two significant urban centres and numerous intermediate towns, the train will facilitate easier movement for business, tourism, and personal travel, contributing to a more integrated national economy.

During its extensive journey, the express train will make 29 strategic stoppages, connecting a multitude of cities and towns across several states. Key halts include Nizamabad, Nanded, Akola, Khandwa, Itarsi, Ujjain, Ratlam, Chittaurgarh, Ajmer, and Pali Marwar. These numerous stoppages ensure that the benefits of this new connectivity are widely distributed, reaching semi-urban and rural populations along the route, thereby fostering more equitable access to opportunities and services.

The train’s coach composition reflects a thoughtful approach to catering to diverse passenger needs, comprising two 2nd AC, seven 3rd AC, seven Sleeper, four General 2nd Class, and two Generator cum Luggage Brake Vans. This mix ensures affordability and comfort across various segments of travellers. The fare structure, with Sleeper Class at ₹770, AC 3 Tier at ₹2030, and AC 2 Tier at ₹2930, makes long-distance rail travel an economically viable option for a broad demographic, reinforcing the railway’s role as a public utility.

The Kacheguda – Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (Train No. 17605) will depart from Kacheguda daily at 23:50 hrs starting July 20, 2025, reaching Bhagat Ki Kothi at 20:00 hrs on the third day. Conversely, the Bhagat Ki Kothi – Kacheguda Express (Train No. 17606) will depart from Bhagat Ki Kothi daily at 22:30 hrs from July 22, 2025, arriving in Kacheguda at 15:40 hrs on the third day. These timings are designed to optimise travel convenience, particularly for those undertaking longer journeys.

This new rail link is a significant step towards building sustainable and eco-friendly cities. By providing an efficient mass transit option, it can reduce reliance on private vehicles and air travel for inter-city commutes, thereby lowering carbon emissions and contributing to cleaner air. Furthermore, improved rail connectivity supports gender-neutral and equitable access to economic and social opportunities, ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their background, can benefit from enhanced mobility and a more integrated national transport network.
