Hyderabad GHMC commissioner directs officials to resolve Prajavani complaints
Hyderabad The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation GHMC commissioner RV Karnan has instructed civic officials to act swiftly on the 204 public grievances received during the Prajavani programme held on Monday. Citizens from across the city attended the hearing at the GHMC headquarters and other zonal offices to present their issues directly to the civic body.
At the headquarters alone 74 complaints were received with the Town Planning Department accounting for the highest number at 37. The Tax and Housing Departments received 7 complaints each followed by Vigilance with 5 Engineering with 4 Health and Sanitation with 3 and the remaining distributed among Finance Legal Admin and other departments.
In addition to the central hearing 126 complaints were recorded across six GHMC zones with Kukatpally receiving the highest at 55 followed by Serilingampally with 28 Secunderabad with 27 LB Nagar with 9 Charminar with 6 and Khairtabad with 1.
Commissioner RV Karnan emphasized that repeated complaints due to departmental negligence would not be tolerated and directed department heads to resolve all issues on a war footing. He also warned against any careless handling of public concerns and insisted that each case be tracked until closure.
Senior officials including additional commissioners and department heads were present during the public hearing and have been assigned responsibility for follow ups on complaints from their respective areas.
