Hyderabad is poised for a major traffic breakthrough as the new Kondapur-Gachibowli flyover, spanning 1.2 kilometres, is slated for inauguration in the first week of June.
Designed to ease pressure on one of the city’s most overburdened transport corridors, the ₹172-crore infrastructure project is expected to streamline vehicle flow in the heart of the city’s IT and commercial district.Developed under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) by the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL), the elevated flyover promises significant travel time reductions between Kondapur, Gachibowli, HITEC City, and the adjoining Financial District—regions that have rapidly urbanised due to IT industry growth. With thousands of daily commuters traversing these routes, the flyover is projected to substantially reduce congestion at multiple critical junctions.
The project has been hailed by urban planners as a timely intervention in Hyderabad’s broader mobility strategy, which aims to support high-density economic zones with efficient, future-ready infrastructure.
