On February 7, an Oman Air flight from Muscat to Kuala Lumpur was forced to divert to Chennai Airport after a 42-year-old woman, part of a group of pilgrims returning from Medina, experienced severe chest pain mid-flight. Despite immediate medical attention from the on-board medical team, the woman, identified as Khalija Abubacker from Malaysia, tragically passed away shortly after the emergency landing. Airport medical personnel were unable to revive her, and the flight departed Chennai at around 4:30 pm after completing the necessary formalities.
