Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proactively established specialized medical provisions to combat potential cases of heat stroke.
In accordance with directives from the state government, PCMC-operated healthcare facilities have designated beds within their emergency departments to manage instances of heat-related ailments. Key medical institutions in Pimpri Chinchwad, including Yashwantrao Chavan Smriti (YCM) Hospital, Navin Jijamata, Bhosari, Thergaon, Akurdi, and Talera Hospitals, have bolstered their capacities to attend to heat stroke-related emergencies. While currently, no cases of heat stroke have been officially reported in the city, there has been a noticeable uptick in dermatological conditions attributable to prolonged sun exposure. The health officials of PCMC’s health department are urging residents to exercise caution in light of the looming threat posed by excessive heat. Citizens are advised to prioritize hydration and minimize direct exposure to the sun by refraining from outdoor activities during peak daylight hours.
As temperatures continue to rise, the proactive measures undertaken by PCMC underscore a commitment to safeguarding public health amidst climatic challenges. The concerted efforts aimed at heat stroke preparedness align with broader initiatives to ensure the well-being of the community during adverse weather conditions.
