Gujarats Renewable Energy Landscape Expands with ACME Solars 26.4 MW Wind Project

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has inaugurated the first phase of its 26.4 MW wind power project in Shapar, Gujarat, marking a significant step in the company’s renewable energy expansion.

The project is part of the larger 50 MW ACME Pokhran wind initiative, which will be rolled out in stages. With this development, ACME Solar’s operational capacity has increased from 2,705 MW to 2,731.4 MW. Situated in one of India’s most wind-rich areas, this project is set to play a significant role in advancing the country’s renewable energy objectives. The wind turbines used in the project are Envision 3.3 MW models, known for their efficiency and reliability. The generated electricity is pooled at a 33/220 kV station and transmitted to the Shapar sub-station via a dedicated 220 kV transmission line.

This sub-station will also support another of ACME Solar’s upcoming projects, a 100 MW wind power facility that is currently nearing completion. The electricity generated from this wind farm will be sold under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between ACME Pokhran and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. This long-term agreement ensures a stable revenue stream for the project and contributes to Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity.

ACME Solar Holdings is a prominent player in India’s renewable energy sector, with a diversified portfolio of 6,970 MW across solar, wind, FDRE, and hybrid projects. With this new development, the company’s operational capacity now stands at 2,731.4 MW, with an additional 4,238.6 MW in various stages of development. The company’s in-house engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) team has been instrumental in the project’s execution, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. ACME Solar is known for its industry-leading capacity utilization factor (CUF) and operating margins, which are a testament to its commitment to operational excellence.

This wind power project aligns with India’s renewable energy goals and contributes to the country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development. By harnessing the power of wind, ACME Solar is helping to create a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for India.
