The ambitious 174-acre multimodal logistics park project in Greater Noida’s Kappa-2 is swiftly advancing towards developer selection, with proposals from prominent entities including Adani Ports, Super Handlers, and Empezar Logistics now under review. This strategic infrastructure initiative, expected to attract an investment exceeding ₹1,200 crore and generate over 5,000 jobs, is poised to revolutionise freight movement in western Uttar Pradesh, significantly enhancing supply chain efficiency and laying a critical foundation for sustainable, equitable economic growth across the region.
The proposed park boasts a strategically advantageous location, positioned directly adjacent to the existing Concor-operated dry port, which facilitates extensive container storage and processing. Crucially, its proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar will enable seamless intermodal cargo transport across road, rail, and air. The facility is designed to feature comprehensive infrastructure, including state-of-the-art container terminals, expansive cargo yards, sophisticated cold storage warehouses, and advanced mechanised systems for handling both bulk and break-bulk cargo.
This integrated logistics hub is strategically designed to connect the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors, fundamentally transforming Noida into a sophisticated cargo nerve centre with unparalleled air, rail, and road connectivity. Such multimodal integration is paramount for optimising supply chains, which is projected to substantially reduce logistics costs for industries throughout western Uttar Pradesh. The resulting operational efficiencies and expanded market access are expected to stimulate significant industrial growth and create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth, fostering economic inclusivity.
On Thursday, Manoj Kumar Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and Chairman of Noida and Greater Noida Authorities, led a high-level review of the project. During the session, the three applicant companies presented their detailed plans, technical expertise, and investment strategies to senior officials. This rigorous selection process aligns with the state’s progressive Multi-Modal Logistics Park Policy, 2024, which offers substantial incentives to eligible investors, underscoring Uttar Pradesh’s strategic commitment to solidifying its position as a leading manufacturing and logistics hub.
Beyond the immediate economic benefits, the inherent multimodal nature of this logistics park positions it as a cornerstone for sustainable urban development. By promoting the efficient movement of goods via rail and other consolidated transport modes, the project directly contributes to reducing reliance on carbon-intensive road freight, thereby lowering overall emissions and advancing the state’s zero net carbon objectives. This development, alongside the planned ₹8,325 crore Multi-Modal Logistics Hub in Dadri, part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, exemplifies Uttar Pradesh’s holistic vision for a resilient, eco-friendly, and highly competitive logistical landscape.
