Greater Noida is moving forward with a ₹250 crore plan to build a 2.5km four-lane elevated road from Iteda to Crossings Republik via Shahberi, aiming to ease congestion and strengthen regional connectivity ahead of the Noida International Airport’s operational launch later this year.
Officials confirmed that the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has invited expressions of interest for selecting a project management consultancy (PMC) firm to prepare a detailed project report (DPR). The DPR will be the blueprint for planning, design, cost estimation, and eventual construction approvals.A feasibility study and route alignment have already been completed by the Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi. The selected consultancy will now carry out detailed topographical, geotechnical, and hydrological surveys to finalise engineering designs. The work will also include assessing right-of-way needs, relocating utilities, and integrating provisions for ramps, service roads, drainage, pavements, lighting, and safety infrastructure.

Officials noted that the DPR will outline all costs, including the Bill of Quantities, land acquisition, utility relocation, and environmental mitigation measures. Where required, the consultancy will conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and prepare a Resettlement Action Plan in compliance with statutory regulations, supported by public consultations. The project has been classified as a regional connectivity scheme, with proposed joint funding from Ghaziabad, GNIDA, the Noida Authority, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. Once complete, the elevated corridor is expected to become a critical link between Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad, diverting heavy traffic from existing arterial roads and reducing travel times significantly.
Transport planners highlight that the corridor’s importance will grow once the Noida International Airport becomes operational, as traffic volumes on the route are projected to rise sharply. The road will also support economic growth by improving access to commercial and residential hubs in both cities. In addition to design and planning, the selected PMC will prepare a traffic management plan for the construction phase. This will include diversions, temporary arrangements, and deployment of marshals at critical points to ensure pedestrian safety and minimise disruptions.
During the implementation phase, the consultancy may assist with tender preparation, bidder evaluations, and technical clarifications, as well as monitoring construction quality and resolving engineering issues.Urban mobility experts view the project as an opportunity to integrate modern engineering with sustainability goals. They stress that incorporating eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient lighting, and rainwater management systems into the design could align the road with broader low-carbon city objectives. For commuters, the elevated link promises smoother, faster, and safer travel between two of the region’s fastest-growing urban centres, signalling a decisive step towards a more connected and efficient Greater Noida.
