In a separate and more tragic incident, at least four people lost their lives, and 20 others sustained injuries when multiple coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed near Gonda in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The derailment involved eight coaches, which went off the tracks between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations, approximately 150 kilometres from the state capital, on the Gonda-Gorakhpur section of the Northeast Railway.

The Northeast Railway authorities have initiated an investigation into the causes of the derailment, aiming to prevent such incidents in the future.
