GNIDA Rolls Out Major ₹73 Crore Development Initiative

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has announced an ambitious development plan, allocating a budget of ₹73 crore for a range of infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the city’s urban landscape and quality of life. This comprehensive plan was rolled out on Tuesday and includes critical works such as road resurfacing, installation of LED lights in rural areas, creation of an open gym, and the beautification of major road stretches.

One of the standout projects in this plan is the resurfacing of the road from Char Murti Chowk to Tigri Roundabout, with an earmarked expenditure of ₹7 crore. The tender process for this project has already been initiated and is expected to be finalised within a month, according to GNIDA.

In addition to road improvements, the development plan prioritises the installation of LED lights in village plots, a project valued at ₹6.85 crore. This initiative aims to enhance safety and visibility in several rural areas. Another notable project under this plan is the construction of an open gym in the 100-metre wide green belt near Galaxy Vega Society. Alongside this, the beautification of DSC Road and NH-24 has been allocated a budget of ₹1.49 crore.

Post-election code removal, GNIDA has ramped up its development activities. The statutory body’s CEO, N G Ravi Kumar, has directed various departments to accelerate maintenance and construction works to ensure timely completion.

Tenders for these works have been issued by multiple departments, including the Project Department, Horticulture Department, Electrical Engineering Department, and Water-Sewer Department. Specifically, the Project Department has issued tenders for 12 works totalling ₹47 crore. These works include the resurfacing of Char Murti Chowk to Tigri Roundabout, completion of the Panchayat House near Shiv Temple in Pali, and the development of residential plots in Pali. Additional projects involve covering and cleaning drains in Sector 1 and Jewar 3.

The Water-Sewer Department has announced tenders worth ₹17.51 crore. These cover the maintenance and operation of the 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Sector Ecotech III, electrical and mechanical works related to the Gangajal project’s zonal reservoirs, and GIS mapping.

GNIDA officials stated, “With these projects, GNIDA aims to significantly improve the infrastructure and quality of life in Greater Noida. The tendering process for all projects is expected to be completed within a month, following which the execution of works will commence promptly.”

The strategic focus of this development plan underscores GNIDA’s commitment to fostering urban development and addressing the infrastructure needs of Greater Noida’s growing population. This initiative marks a significant step towards modernising the city and enhancing its appeal as a key urban hub.
