Ghaziabad to House 200 MW Solar Plant as Multi Infra Launches Multi Solar Brand

Ghaziabad is set to play a pivotal role in India’s green energy transformation as Multi Infrastructure & Engineering Pvt. Ltd. announced a fully automated 200 MW solar module manufacturing facility in the Sahibabad industrial area. The company also revealed the launch of its new dedicated solar brand, ‘Multi Solar’, under which the plant will operate. The move marks a significant step in India’s push toward domestic clean energy production, and the facility is expected to be operational by November 2025.

The upcoming plant will manufacture high-efficiency Mono PERC and TOPCon solar modules, technologies that are fast becoming the industry standard for performance and reliability. Multi Infra stated that the plant’s production capacity will start at 200 megawatts annually but is already designed to scale up to 500 MW in the next phase of expansion. The project aligns with the national mission of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and is also expected to support Uttar Pradesh’s vision of becoming a clean energy hub. This development is more than just an investment in infrastructure. It’s expected to have a tangible impact on employment and environmental sustainability. The plant will directly create over 150 skilled jobs in the green technology sector, while also generating over 500 indirect employment opportunities through the local solar component supply chain. According to the company, the facility will help prevent up to 220,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year—equivalent to planting more than 10 million trees annually.

To enhance its manufacturing capability and ensure top-tier quality from the start, Multi Infra has entered into a long-term strategic technology partnership with Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a Mini Ratna public sector enterprise under the Government of India. CEL brings decades of R&D experience in solar module innovation, which will now be integrated into Multi Infra’s manufacturing and quality assurance processes. This partnership will support the production of cutting-edge technologies such as bifacial and TOPCon modules, designed for higher efficiency and durability. The official memorandum of understanding between Multi Infra and CEL was signed on June 26, 2025, in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The state’s leadership has been actively promoting investment in the renewable energy sector, and the Multi Solar plant represents a concrete result of these policies. The facility is expected to become a cornerstone of industrial growth in the region and a showcase for “Make in India” capabilities in green manufacturing.

In addition to boosting solar production, the project includes a robust commitment to workforce development. Multi Infra has announced plans to collaborate with Skill India to create training programs that will equip local youth with the skills needed in solar engineering, smart-grid technologies, and precision manufacturing. These initiatives aim to nurture a local talent pipeline and reduce dependence on imported expertise. From a technical standpoint, the Sahibabad facility will be compliant with BIS, IEC, and ALMM certifications from the outset. This ensures that modules manufactured at the plant meet both Indian and international standards for safety, efficiency, and durability. The end goal is to offer high-performance solar solutions at competitive prices while helping India reduce its carbon footprint and dependency on imported energy technologies.

Multi Infra, founded in 2016, has rapidly grown into a diversified infrastructure solutions provider. With the creation of Multi Solar, the company is now positioning itself as a major player in solar module manufacturing. Its core competencies include engineering, procurement, construction, and operation of infrastructure and energy projects, and the new solar venture adds further depth to its clean tech portfolio.

As global attention shifts toward sustainable development, Ghaziabad’s new solar module facility represents more than a local success story. It is a symbol of India’s growing capabilities in renewable energy, industrial self-reliance, and green job creation. Backed by government support, strategic partnerships, and a clear roadmap for expansion, Multi Infra’s investment in Sahibabad signals a long-term commitment to powering India’s future—one solar cell at a time.
