Ghaziabad Development Authority plans mega township near expressway report in two months

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has officially initiated work on the Harnandipuram Mega Township, a modern residential and infrastructure hub planned near the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. According to GDA officials, a private consultant has been appointed to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is expected to be submitted within the next two months.

Situated strategically along the RRTS corridor and Delhi-Meerut Road, Harnandipuram is poised to become a high-connectivity, high-potential township equipped with modern civic infrastructure. Officials confirmed that the selected agency has already commenced the DPR preparation. Tenders were floated earlier in April, and the consultancy contract was awarded upon completion of the bidding process. Key components of the township plan include advanced power systems, smart street lighting, and integrated public transport connectivity, with easy access to both Metro and RRTS lines. Additionally, GDA has kickstarted land acquisition in the first phase, focusing on direct procurement from farmers across eight villages including Nagla Ferozepur Mohan, Champat Nagar, Mathurapur, Shamsher, and Bhandara Khurd.

To further strengthen infrastructure and ensure smooth transit, a new elevated road—similar in concept to the Hindon Elevated Road—has been proposed. This arterial route will provide signal-free, direct connectivity from the township to Delhi, dramatically cutting commute time and easing traffic congestion. According to GDA officials and a report by News18, the project is expected to spur both residential and commercial development in the area, serving as a catalyst for economic growth in Ghaziabad. The township, once operational, could offer a blueprint for future integrated urban development along high-speed corridors in the NCR region.

With connectivity, sustainability, and smart planning at its core, Harnandipuram is set to become a model township—marking a new chapter in Ghaziabad’s urban evolution.
