Geoclean’s Strategic Vision Achieving 25% TSR by 2028 Through Innovative Waste Management

Geoclean, the waste management arm of Ambuja Cements and ACC, is poised to achieve a Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) of 25% by 2028, marking a significant milestone in India’s sustainable development journey.

As of FY’24, Geoclean has already elevated its TSR to 8.5%, co-processing over 17 lakh tonnes of waste and conserving more than 1 million tonnes of natural resources. This achievement underscores Geoclean’s pivotal role in advancing the circular economy through efficient waste management practices. Aligned with the Adani Group’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, Geoclean collaborates extensively with municipalities and industries across the country. By leveraging advanced technology, a skilled workforce, and standardized systems, Geoclean offers tailored and reliable waste management solutions. These efforts not only address immediate environmental challenges but also support long-term sustainability goals, contributing to the circular economy framework. Geoclean’s operations extend beyond mere waste management; they are pivotal in remediating legacy landfills, reclaiming over 100 acres of land, and diverting substantial waste from traditional disposal methods. The establishment of new facilities like the pre- and co-processing units at Ambuja Marwar and ACC Jamul has significantly enhanced waste-derived fuel utilization, propelling TSR to 15% in these locations.

Looking ahead, Geoclean is steadfast in its commitment to further elevate its TSR to 25% by 2028. This ambitious goal will involve expanding into key markets, enhancing capabilities in managing Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), and introducing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) services. By integrating innovative solutions across industrial, municipal, and agricultural sectors, Geoclean aims to redefine waste management practices in India and pave the way for a sustainable future. The strategic vision of Geoclean not only reinforces its leadership in sustainable waste management but also sets a benchmark for industry-wide adoption of circular economy principles. As India navigates towards more stringent environmental norms and sustainability targets, Geoclean stands poised to play a crucial role in driving transformative change and shaping a greener, more resilient economy.
