Gandhinagar Unveils Gujarat Agenda For 2035 Focusing On Inclusive Growth

The Government of Gujarat has officially launched the ambitious ‘Gujarat@75: Agenda for 2035’, a decade-long roadmap aimed at steering the state towards inclusive, sustainable, and digitally empowered growth. The initiative aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, positioning Gujarat as a model for balanced development, citizen empowerment, and green infrastructure.

The framework outlines strategies across health, education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship to ensure all citizens “Earn Well and Live Well.”Experts involved in the formulation of the roadmap emphasised its sectoral depth. The Agenda for 2035 envisions a prosperous state under the theme ‘Samruddh Rajya; Samarth Nagarik’, targeting equitable growth across all districts. The framework places a strong focus on digital literacy and AI-driven education, with plans to introduce technology-enabled learning in 7,500 schools and establish 75 Advanced Skill Institutes, preparing a future-ready workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the economy.

Health infrastructure forms a critical pillar, with plans for expanded medical colleges, a comprehensive digital health network, and universal health insurance coverage. Concurrently, the state aims to integrate sustainability into urban planning, creating 750 green spaces, planting 7,500 Miyawaki forests, and recycling 75% of municipal wastewater. Ambitious targets in renewable energy include 75% of industrial power requirements sourced from green energy, deployment of 7,500 electric buses, and 75 GW of wind energy capacity, reflecting Gujarat’s commitment to a zero-carbon growth trajectory.

Agriculture and entrepreneurship are central to the agenda. Policies are designed to enhance crop quality, support rural enterprise, and position the state as a national innovation hub for start-ups and research initiatives. Infrastructure investment worth ₹7.5 lakh crore is planned to modernise transport, irrigation, ports, and energy networks, driving both regional connectivity and industrial competitiveness. The Gujarat@75 blueprint is structured around a 4I framework  Infrastructure, Innovation, Individuals, and Institutions  ensuring a balance between technological progress, citizen empowerment, and institutional efficiency. Developed collaboratively by the Gujarat Rajya Institution for Transformation (GRIT) alongside key state departments, the plan incorporates measurable benchmarks to track progress and maintain accountability.Officials stressed that Gujarat@75 is more than a developmental blueprint; it represents a commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and equitable urban-rural growth. The roadmap is expected to position Gujarat as a global leader in clean energy, smart governance, and social empowerment, setting a precedent for India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
