The Bihar government has approved the renovation of four crucial roads in Gaya district, spanning a total length of 48.12 kilometres. The initiative, with an estimated cost of ₹36.68 crore, aims to enhance connectivity between Gaya and neighbouring districts such as Aurangabad, Arwal, Jehanabad, and Patna.
Deputy Chief Minister and Road Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has granted administrative approval for the project, which will be executed by the state road construction department. The renovated roads will improve accessibility, reduce travel time, and foster economic growth in the region. According to an official press release from the Department of Information and Public Relations, the approved projects include:
Panchanpur to Sanda Road (SH-69): 19.22 km
Amas-Naudiha-Kasma Road (Sherghati Division): 9.80 km
Mau-Kurkut-Bigha-Usasade Ora Path: 8.2 km
Dadreji-Anti Rafiganj Road: 10.9 km
The total renovation work will modernise these arterial routes, which play a significant role in connecting smaller towns and villages with larger urban centres. The improved roads are expected to boost trade, tourism, and daily commuting in the Gaya district and its surrounding areas. By strengthening links with districts like Aurangabad and Jehanabad, the renovation aligns with the state government’s larger goal of regional development and enhanced road infrastructure. Local residents and stakeholders have welcomed the decision, expressing optimism that better roads will lead to improved quality of life and economic opportunities. The renovation projects will also contribute to safer travel conditions, especially on routes with high vehicular movement. The approval of these projects highlights the Bihar government’s focus on infrastructure development as a cornerstone for progress. With the completion of these roadworks, Gaya’s connectivity and accessibility are expected to see a marked improvement, positioning the region as a key transit and development hub in Bihar.
