Final Phase of Pier Erection for Pune Metro Line 3 Begins

The Pune Metro project, designed to connect the thriving IT hub of Hinjewadi with
the bustling central business district of Shivajinagar, is making extraordinary
strides. The pier erection work on this route has reached its concluding phase,
marking a significant milestone. Among the planned 923 pillars for this 23.3 km stretch, approximately 80 percent of them, totalling 715 piers, have now been
successfully erected.

The 715th pier, a testament to engineering excellence, was inaugurated near
Agriculture College Square on Ganeshkhind Road. Notably, since the casting of
the inaugural pier on Ganeshkhind Road, the Pune Metro Line 3 development team
has achieved the remarkable feat of erecting over 700 piers in a mere 17 months.
In conjunction with the pier construction, the pile cap work for Pune Metro Line 3
has also entered its final phase, with 810 out of 923 pile caps now completed.
These piers boast a unique circular design with a diameter of 2000 mm,
meticulously crafted to meet the exacting standards of the Metro rail system.
