Ferozepur Delhi Vande Bharat Train Launch Scheduled After Flood Delay

Rajasthan–Punjab rail connectivity is set to receive a significant boost as the Ferozepur–Delhi Vande Bharat train is scheduled for launch in the coming week. Officials confirmed that the formal announcement regarding the train’s flagging off will be made on September 23, with operations likely to commence around September 26 or 27. The delay in the service has been attributed to recent flooding in the region, which affected the rail network.

The new Vande Bharat service will be the first from Ferozepur and surrounding parts of Malwa to directly link with the national capital. The train will follow a strategic route via Bathinda, Dhuri, Rajpura, and Ambala before reaching Delhi. Officials indicate that this addition is part of a broader plan to expand high-speed rail services in northern India, with several new trains expected to be introduced in the coming year.

Observers note that such infrastructure improvements not only strengthen city-to-city links but also facilitate balanced economic development in smaller towns along the route.

While the launch marks a milestone for Ferozepur and northern Punjab, authorities have reaffirmed that operational safety and punctuality remain priorities. Measures are being taken to ensure flood-affected tracks are fully restored and verified ahead of the train’s inaugural run.The Ferozepur–Delhi Vande Bharat Express, with its modern coaches, high-speed capability, and enhanced passenger services, is expected to redefine rail travel in the region. It underscores India’s growing commitment to connecting peripheral districts to major urban hubs, promoting sustainable mobility, and creating a more inclusive and efficient transport network.
