ET Infra 2025 Show Pushes for Smarter Rail Growth

India’s railway infrastructure is undergoing a major shift, driven by digital innovation, policy reform, and public-private investment. The fourth edition of the ET Infra Rail Show 2025 in New Delhi brings together key stakeholders to explore a future-ready rail ecosystem—from Vande Bharat trains and city metros to smarter freight corridors and sustainable transit solutions.

India’s rail sector is poised for transformation, and the fourth edition of the ET Infra Rail Show 2025 aims to provide a roadmap. Organised by ET Infra, the event in New Delhi brings together senior government officials, international partners, and private industry leaders at a time when the country is rapidly expanding its metro, freight, and high-speed rail networks. With projects like Vande Bharat, NaMo Bharat, and metro expansions reshaping urban and regional transport, the show’s core themes include digital innovation, public-private partnerships (PPPs), and sustainable financing.

Indian Railways is driving expert discussions on digitising asset maintenance, adopting advanced logistics software, and streamlining freight operations. The focus will also be on policy reforms aimed at making rail travel more efficient and commuter-friendly. Stakeholders are set to explore ways to unlock new business opportunities through public-private partnerships (PPPs) and modernise regulatory frameworks. These efforts are part of a broader vision to enhance operational efficiency, attract investment, and position the rail sector as a key player in sustainable infrastructure development.

Freight and logistics remain a major pillar, with discussions on the development of cargo terminals and integrated logistics parks. These are essential for enhancing multimodal connectivity and supply chain resilience. On the technology front, digital tools can be used to improve rail infrastructure planning and execution. A dedicated panel will explore financing and sustaining Mass Rail Transit Systems (MRTS) via Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). This approach links real estate, mobility, and urban planning to ensure long-term project viability.

In line with growing concerns over data protection and operational safety, the summit will also feature a panel on cybersecurity’s role in enabling a smart and secure rail network. A whitepaper presentation by infrastructure consultancy firm YCP Auctus, the knowledge partner for the event, will provide deeper insights into scaling India’s rail capacity while maintaining fiscal discipline and ecological sensitivity.

The ET Infra Rail Show 2025 is supported by a consortium of leading organisations. These include technology solutions provider SAP, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, the Nemetschek Group, Dextra Group, and Equirus Raghnall. Institutional support comes from key stakeholders like JICA India, the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL), the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), RITES Ltd, and the Indian Railways Institute of Financial Management.

As India pushes for cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive transportation, the ET Infra Rail Show 2025 provides a platform to align infrastructure goals with digital readiness, investment models, and long-term sustainability.
