Ernakulam Kochi Christmas New Year Supplyco Fair Starts Today With Affordable Products

Ernakulam and Kochi residents welcomed the start of the Supplyco Christmas-New Year fair on Monday, 22 December 2025, at the Marine Drive helipad ground. The fair, inaugurated by Industries Minister P Rajeeve, will run until 1 January and offers a wide range of daily essentials, festive kits, and branded products at discounts ranging from 5% to 50%. Customers can also access subsidised rice and special holiday offers, making seasonal shopping more affordable across multiple district outlets.

The festive fair extends to supermarkets, hypermarkets, and People’s Bazaar outlets across Tripunithura Layam, Aluva, Gandhinagar, Chullikkal, Muvattupuzha, Piravom, Kothamangalam, North Paravur, and Perumbavoor. Over 280 products from leading brands, including essential groceries, snacks, and household items, are available at discounted rates. Notably, Supplyco’s 20-kg subsidised rice, priced at just Rs 25, will also be offered at these fairs, ensuring access to staple commodities for families across income levels. To further enhance affordability, customers purchasing non-subsidised items worth more than Rs 500 will receive one kilogram of Sabari salt for just one rupee. Additionally, a curated “Santa Offer” kit containing 12 essential items—such as cake, sugar, tea, payasam mix, Sabari appam powder, and spices—is available at Rs 500, discounted from the original price of Rs 667. These measures are designed to make holiday shopping more inclusive and budget-friendly for residents.

The fair also integrates a festive fuel-linked promotion. Two-wheelers and autorickshaws refuelling for Rs 250, and other vehicles for over Rs 1,000 at Supplyco petrol pumps, will receive special coupons offering Rs 50 off on purchases of subsidised items worth Rs 1,000. Such initiatives highlight Supplyco’s approach to connecting essential commodities with broader urban consumer needs, combining convenience with affordability. The inauguration ceremony was attended by T J Vinod, MLA, who presided over the event, and Hibi Eden, MP, who made the first sale. Supplyco Managing Director V S Jayakrishnan was also present. Officials emphasised that the fair reflects the government’s commitment to equitable access to essential goods, ensuring that citizens from all income levels can participate in festive celebrations without financial strain.

Urban analysts note that initiatives like the Supplyco Christmas-New Year fair support sustainable urban consumption patterns by making essential goods more accessible while stimulating local economic activity. By combining subsidies with festive promotions, the fair strengthens community engagement and encourages responsible, inclusive shopping in Ernakulam and Kochi.
