Noida is poised to emerge as a significant node in India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem with the Centre granting approval for a sprawling electronics manufacturing cluster across 206 acres near the Yamuna Expressway.
Anchored by an investment of Rs 800 crore from a leading appliances brand, the project is expected to become a cornerstone for Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to position itself as a competitive hub in electronics production, with the promise of over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in the coming years. The cluster, to be developed in Sector 10 under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), is set to feature a flatted factory complex, integrated industrial infrastructure, and plug-and-play facilities aimed at easing operational burdens for manufacturing entities. The planned complex will prioritise shared resources and ready-to-use units, lowering the entry barrier for smaller players and startups looking to scale operations in India’s expanding electronics sector.
The state’s infrastructure development authority will act as the implementing agency, with the support of the Centre’s EMC 2.0 scheme—a programme intended to decentralise electronics manufacturing and promote cost-effective production by offering financial incentives and infrastructure support. The central government has already sanctioned Rs 144 crore for the initiative, while YEIDA is slated to invest another Rs 340 crore in developing the core framework including road networks, green spaces, power lines, and water supply systems.

A large portion of the cluster has been earmarked for the flagship investor, who will set up manufacturing units focused on fans, lighting products, switchgear, cables, and air conditioning systems. The initial phase of the facility is expected to be operational by 2026, and officials anticipate a cascading effect, attracting ancillary units and component manufacturers essential to the electronics value chain. This model is expected to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that generates not just employment but also innovation in a sector that is pivotal to India’s digital aspirations. The broader cluster plan envisions a 16-acre flatted factory complex housing nearly 176 modular units, designed for smaller electronics firms and startups seeking ready-built spaces.
In addition, 66 independent plots spread across 106 acres will be made available to potential investors, offering flexible land-use patterns for specialised electronics and component manufacturing. The initiative reflects a strategic alignment between the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government to boost local manufacturing capacities while promoting equitable economic development across emerging regions like Greater Noida.Given its proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and seamless connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway, the location offers a competitive logistical advantage. Planners believe the site is ideal to position the region as a key industrial growth node that could rival more established hubs over the next decade. Slated for completion by early 2028, the project is not only expected to transform the industrial landscape of Noida but also bolster India’s credentials as a global destination for electronics manufacturing.
The initiative comes at a critical time when India is pushing for technological self-reliance, especially in critical sectors such as semiconductors, consumer electronics, and energy-efficient appliances. As governments seek to build net-zero carbon and eco-conscious infrastructure, such projects—integrating shared utilities and green spaces—underline the shift towards sustainable, inclusive industrialisation.
