Mumbai residents in parts of A, B, and E wards will experience a 24-hour water supply suspension starting Wednesday, May 28, due to essential infrastructure work by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The BMC is replacing an old water channel at Dockyard Road to enhance the city’s water distribution system.

A Ward: Naval Dockyard, St George Hospital, P D’Mello Road, Ramgarh Slum, Reserve Bank, Head Post Office (GPO) to Regal Cinema.

B Ward: Mohammad Ali Road, Ibrahim Rahimtoola Road, Imamwada Road, Ibrahim Merchant Road, Yusuf Meher Ali Road, Peeru Galli, Narayan Dhuru, Abdur Rehman Road, Nakoda, Kolsa, Israel Mohalla, V V Chandan, Dhobi Shereef Devji, Raghunath Maharaj, Old Bangalipura Bhandari, Acharya Chand Gandhi Marg, Nishanpara, Masjid Bunder, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Noor Marg, Noorbagh, Dongri, Ramchandra Bhat Marg, Samuel Street, Keshavji Naik Marg, Narsi Natha Street.

The BMC urges residents in these areas to use water judiciously during this period. The replacement of the 1,200-millimetre water channel at Dockyard Road’s Navanagar is a critical step in upgrading the city’s water infrastructure. Additionally, the old 900-mm gate at the Bhandarwada reservoir will be removed and replaced with a new gate to improve water distribution efficiency. While the BMC has not announced any further water supply suspensions in other parts of the city, residents are advised to stay informed through official channels for any updates. The civic body emphasizes the importance of conserving water and encourages citizens to store sufficient water in advance to mitigate any inconvenience caused by the suspension.
