In a progressive move to digitise property records, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched the e-Khata initiative, providing an efficient and accessible way for Bengaluru’s residents to access their property documents. With a total of 22 lakh draft e-Khatas prepared and placed online, the civic body has appealed to all property owners in Bengaluru to obtain their digital property records via the BBMP website. The e-Khata system is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to modernise its administrative processes, providing a seamless, contactless, and efficient solution for citizens.
Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Bangalore Urban Development Minister DK Shivakumar, BBMP has taken a significant step in transforming property management in the city. By offering digital access to property records, BBMP aims to streamline services, reduce bureaucratic delays, and eliminate the need for physical paperwork. Residents can now easily access their e-Khata by visiting the designated portal bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in, where they can search, verify, and print their final e-Khata. The process, designed to be user-friendly, requires only basic documents, such as Aadhaar details, Property Tax ID, and the property’s registered deed number, making it an easy and contactless procedure for citizens to get their e-Khata.
To further simplify the process, BBMP has ensured that even the most minor discrepancies in the information provided can be addressed by forwarding the cases to the Assistant Revenue Officers (AROs) for resolution. This digital transformation aligns with the state’s broader vision of promoting transparency, reducing human intervention, and enabling faster resolution of property-related issues.
