Delhi Welcomes Tata Power Green Energy Skilling Centre to Train Future Workforce for Sustainable India
Delhi added a major milestone to India’s green energy journey as Tata Power launched its Green Energy Skill Centre in Rohini. The state-of-the-art facility, developed under Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), aims to prepare a future-ready workforce skilled in solar, energy storage, and hydro technologies. Inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, alongside Tata Power CEO Dr. Praveer Sinha, the centre is aligned with national clean energy goals like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
This 12th training hub in India will provide courses on Solar PV installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance, energy storage, pumped hydro, and electrical safety. TPSDI—backed by NCVET and affiliated with PSSC and SCGJ—is setting the bar with over 200 modular courses and more than 3.43 lakh trained individuals, including affirmative action beneficiaries and women. Their hands-on approach includes virtual simulators, life-sized industrial models, and remote-access tools via its Virtual Academy of Skills.
With additional centres planned in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Cuttack, Tata Power aims to scale its training footprint. This initiative not only strengthens India’s workforce in green energy but also supports global clean energy demands, as seen in TPSDI’s work across 43+ locations, including Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Liberia.
TPSDI is reinforcing India’s energy transition by blending national skill standards with practical, employability-focused training—fueling not just careers but also a safer, sustainable future.
