Delhi Set For Rain And Thunderstorms As Monsoon Conditions Strengthen Over The Weekend
Delhi continues to enjoy pleasant weather conditions due to consistent rainfall and cloudy skies. Following moderate showers on July 10, the city woke up to an overcast morning on Friday, bringing welcome relief from the earlier heatwave. Maximum temperatures have dropped significantly in the last 24 hours, currently hovering between 28 to 31 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi is likely to experience very light to light rain throughout the day, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms or lightning. Humidity levels are expected to remain high, around 95 percent, while the maximum temperature for Friday is likely to settle at 32 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain predominantly cloudy.
While no weather alerts have been issued for Friday, residents are advised to monitor official sources for any updates as conditions evolve. The IMD forecasts that weather over the weekend will remain favourable for continued rainfall, with light to moderate showers expected across the capital.
An upper air cyclonic circulation over north Haryana and nearby regions will further influence Delhi’s weather, enhancing cloud formation and rainfall activity. Temperatures are expected to range between 33 to 35 degrees Celsius during the day, with humidity levels staying between 80 to 90 percent through the weekend.
Residents are urged to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid taking shelter under trees, and stay indoors during lightning. Waterlogging in low-lying areas remains a possibility, so necessary precautions should be taken.
